This is a 12–14 day guided Royal Enfield motorcycle expedition through the heart of the Indian Himalayas exploring the wild beauty of Ladakh and Zanskar Valleys. Operated by Into Wild Himalaya Expeditions, it’s one of the most scenic and remote routes in the world, combining ancient Buddhist culture, rugged passes, and pure adventure.
The ride is moderate to challenging, ideal for experienced motorcyclists with at least 1–2 years of riding experience on mid-size bikes (350–450 cc). Participants should be comfortable handling rough terrain, water crossings, and long riding days. Pillion riders are welcome on request.
Each rider uses a Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 / 450 cc motorcycle, perfectly tuned for altitude and endurance. A backup 4×4 vehicle follows the group carrying luggage, spare parts, oxygen, and a certified mechanic. Experienced lead and sweep riders manage convoy safety and coordination.
Starting from Manali or Leh, the route passes through Jispa → Shinku La → Padum → Rangdum → Kargil → Leh → Nubra → Pangong → Tso Moriri — an epic circuit covering Ladakh’s high-altitude deserts and Zanskar’s deep gorges. Altitude ranges between 2,000 m and 5,300 m.
Mid-June to Mid September is the best window — passes are open, rivers are crossable, and weather is pleasant. Early rides (June–July) offer snow walls, while August–September feature clear skies and stable road conditions.
