DAY4 Drive to Jobri & Trek to Chika

Day 4 – Drive to Jobra & Trek to Chika

After breakfast in Manali, drive 45 minutes to Jobra, the trek starting point. From Jobra, begin a gentle 3 km trek to Chika. The trail winds through a mixed forest of pine, maple, and birch alongside the Rani Nallah stream. Expect your first river crossing and stunning views of the Dhauladhar range. Chika campsite lies in a lush meadow near the river. Settle into your tents, enjoy a hot dinner, and stargaze before sleeping.

DAY5 Trek from Chika to Balu Ka Ghera

Today’s trail follows the river upstream over rocky terrain and alpine meadows. After breakfast, trek 6–7 km gradually gaining altitude. Witness waterfalls, flowering herbs, and perhaps mountain goats. The trail features multiple stream crossings and panoramic views of snow-covered cliffs. Balu Ka Ghera, your campsite, is nestled at the base of the Hampta Pass. It offers a high-altitude, windswept environment perfect for acclimatization. Warm up with evening soup and dinner before resting in tents.

DAY6 Cross Hampta Pass to Shea Goru

This is the most demanding and exhilarating day. Begin early with packed breakfast. Ascend steep switchbacks to reach Hampta Pass (~4,300 m), the highest point of the trek. The 5-hour climb rewards you with 360° views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. After a break at the pass, begin a careful descent on snow and scree toward the Lahaul valley. Reach Shea Goru by late afternoon. Camp near a stream and enjoy a well-earned hot meal.

DAY7 Trek to Chatru & Camp Overnight

Today, descend gradually from Shea Goru through rocky moraine paths and scattered wildflowers toward the road-head at Chatru. This scenic 7 km trail provides your first views of the stark Lahaul valley. On reaching Chatru, enjoy a hot lunch and set up camp near the confluence of multiple valleys. This final campsite offers clear skies, rugged peaks, and a quiet night under the stars before the journey back begins. Overnight in tents at Chatru.

DAY8 Drive to Chandratal Lake & Return to Manali

Enjoy a warm shower, celebratory dinner, and a final night in the Himalayas. Overnight in a comfortable Manali hotel.

DAY9 Drive from Manali to Delhi

Start early for the return journey to Delhi by private taxi. The 12–13 hour drive retraces the mountain route back to the plains. You’ll arrive in Delhi by late evening. Check-in at your hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay. This final night gives you a chance to unwind and reflect on your Himalayan adventure before your departure the next morning.

DAY10 Departure from Delhi
