Your journey begins with a domestic flight from Delhi to Gangtok, the scenic capital of Sikkim. Here, you’ll visit the spiritual Rumtek Monastery and the lush Orchid Sanctuary, rich in rare Himalayan flora. Next, we travel to Yuksom, the historical trailhead of Sikkim’s most scenic trek via Pemayangtse. The route offers stunning views of Kangchenjunga (8,548 m), the world’s third-highest peak, along with other snow-clad giants. Trek through forested trails, remote Tibetan villages, and peaceful campsites surrounded by nature.

The journey wraps up in Darjeeling, famous for its tea estates and mountain panoramas, before you return to Delhi.

Day 2Delhi to Gangtok via Bagdogra

You’ll take a domestic flight from Delhi to Bagdogra, the nearest airport to Sikkim. Upon arrival, a scenic drive will take you to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, nestled in the Eastern Himalayas. Check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 3Explore Sikkim

Day 6Trek from Yuksum to Tsokha

Begin your Himalayan trek with a steady ascent through the lush, semi-tropical forests of the Rathong Valley. As the trail climbs higher, the vegetation shifts to pine, rhododendron, and magnolia forests. The day ends at the remote Tibetan village of Tsokha, offering sweeping views of the Himalayan range and the mighty Kanchenjunga. Overnight stay in a campsite or trekkers’ hut.

Day 7Trek from Tsokha to Dzongri

Today’s trail is a steep zigzag climb through dense temperate forests filled with towering rhododendron trees. Midway, we break at Phedang—a scenic clearing ideal for lunch and rest. From there, the trail continues along a high ridge leading to Dzongri, a seasonal pastureland used by Yuksam’s yak herders between April and October. Overnight stay in tents amidst alpine meadows.

 
 
 

Day 8Trek from Dzongri to La Mini

Begin with a gentle climb to the ridge below Dzongri Top, offering early panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. The trail then winds through open pastures before descending steeply to Parachu. From there, enjoy a gradual walk through a picturesque valley leading to Thangshing meadow. After another hour, reach the shadow of Mount Pandim, where local shepherds and milkmaids tend their flocks. Overnight stay at a serene campsite.

Day 9Trek from La Mini to Goechela and back to Thangshing

Start early at 4 am to ascend toward Goechela, a high Himalayan viewpoint nestled near the base of mighty Kanchenjunga. The pre-dawn silence is broken only by flowing streams and the whisper of mountain winds. As daylight breaks, snow-covered peaks begin to glow—rising like massive marble walls, creating a surreal alpine spectacle (weather permitting). After soaking in the grandeur, descend to the campsite and continue with a short trek to Thangshing. Overnight stay at camp.

Day 10Trek from La Mini to Thangshing

Enjoy a short and scenic trek to Thangshing, surrounded by towering peaks and glacial landscapes. After setting up camp and having lunch, take a gentle climb behind the campsite for breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and shimmering glaciers. Overnight stay in tents at Thangshing.

Day 11Trek from Thangshing to Tsokha

Begin with a steady descent along the same trail used to reach Dzongri. After about an hour, branch off into a forested route below the original Dzongri trail. This scenic forest path later reconnects with the main trail descending into Tsokha. Overnight stay in tents at the campsite.

Day 12 Trek from Tsokha to Yuksum

The day begins with a steep descent for about 1.5 hours down to the riverbank. From there, the trail eases into a gradual walk that contours above the valley floor, eventually leading back to Yuksum. Overnight stay in a camp or local lodge.

Day 13Journey from Yuksum to Darjeeling

No prior experience needed; this trek includes full guidance and is suited for fit beginners.

Can I bring a suitcase for the trek?

No. Please carry a backpack (40–60L). Suitcases are not suitable for mountain trails.

What’s the weight limit for my backpack?

Keep your personal backpack under 8–10 kg. If porter/mule services are available, you can send up to 12–15 kg (charges may apply).

Are there toilets on the trek?

Yes, but they’re basic. Expect dry pit toilets at campsites. Carry toilet paper and hand sanitizer.

Will I get mobile network or electricity?

Mobile signal is limited—only BSNL or Airtel may work in a few spots. Electricity is rare, so bring a power bank (solar recommended).

Is the drinking water safe?

Yes, filtered or boiled water is provided at camps. Carry two reusable bottles (1L each). Avoid buying plastic bottles.

Can I store extra luggage somewhere?

Yes, you can leave it safely at the base camp or our partner hotel. Avoid storing valuables like cash or jewelry.
