Drive: Manali → Jobri → Manali
Depart from Manali after an early, relaxed breakfast and begin a scenic mountain drive toward Jobri, the starting point of the Hamta Valley trail. The drive itself offers beautiful views of pine forests, mountain villages, and the changing landscape as you move deeper into the Himalayas.
On arrival at Jobri, your guide conducts a detailed safety briefing covering trail conditions, weather expectations, and walking pace. After a gear and footwear check, the hike begins along a clearly marked trail that follows the gentle flow of the Hamta River, allowing your body to gradually adjust to the altitude.
As the trail progresses, dense forest sections slowly open into wide alpine meadows framed by dramatic valley walls and snow-fed streams. The terrain remains comfortable with gentle ascents, making this section enjoyable even for first-time hikers.
Regular short breaks are taken to hydrate, observe the surroundings, and capture photographs of the expansive Himalayan scenery. Guides ensure a steady, unhurried pace so guests can fully absorb the natural beauty without physical strain.
By early afternoon, arrive at Chikka, a scenic meadow campsite that serves as the first overnight stop on the Hamta Pass trek. Surrounded by towering peaks and open grasslands, this is an ideal spot to rest and unwind.
Enjoy a packed lunch while soaking in panoramic mountain views and the peaceful atmosphere of the valley. After sufficient rest and exploration of the area, begin the gradual descent back to Jobri along the same trail, offering a new perspective of the landscape in changing light.
Reach Jobri by late afternoon and begin the drive back to Manali. The return journey is calm and reflective, allowing time to relax after a fulfilling day in the mountains.
Arrive in Manali by early evening feeling refreshed, lightly acclimatised, and deeply connected to the Himalayan environment perfectly prepared for further exploration or simply a relaxed evening in town.
