Morning: Drive to Sethan & Start of the Hike

Meet your Into Wild Himalaya guide in Manali at 7:30 AM for introductions and a detailed safety briefing. After an early breakfast, drive to Sethan village (2,700 m), a high-altitude settlement above Manali. The hike begins with a steady ascent through forested slopes, gaining altitude gradually until the tree line ends around 3,200 m, opening into wide alpine terrain.

Midday: Ascent Above the Tree Line

Beyond the tree line, the landscape changes dramatically into vast open meadows and rolling alpine slopes. The trail climbs steadily toward the dome-shaped summit area, with continuous views expanding in all directions. Regular breaks are taken to manage altitude, hydrate, and rest. During summer months, the meadows are often filled with wildflowers and medicinal herbs.

Afternoon: Sethan Dome & Lunch Break

Reach the Sethan Dome area (approx. 4,160 m) by early afternoon. From here, enjoy close and commanding views of Indrasan and Deo Tibba, while the Beas River Valley stretches far below to the west. A packed lunch is enjoyed in the open alpine setting, allowing time to rest, explore, and absorb the high-altitude Himalayan environment.

Evening: Descent & Return

After spending time at the dome, begin the descent along the same route back toward Sethan village. The long downhill walk is relaxed but requires steady pacing.
