The Rupshu Realm of the Nomads Trek India is a challenging high-altitude journey that begins in Manali and unfolds across the wild, remote landscapes of Ladakh. Following a full day’s sightseeing in the vibrant Delhi City, we will then transfer you to the bus station. Overnight bus journey, fully air conditioned and comfortable to make the journey more relaxing.

Day 3Arrival in Manali

Upon arrival in Manali, we’ll check you into your hotel to freshen up before heading out to explore. Day 4Drive from Manali to Jispa – Darcha

Our journey kicks off with a scenic drive along the Beas River, winding through mountain villages and ascending to the breathtaking Rohtang Pass (4050 m / 13,287 ft.). After descending into Gramphu and clearing the passport check at Koskar, we enter the tribal district of Keylong. Just 35 km ahead lies our riverside campsite in Jispa.

Day 5Drive from Darcha – Jispa – Whiskey Bridge

Today’s route takes us over the spectacular Baralacha La Pass (4800 m / 15,748 ft.), offering sweeping high-altitude views. We then descend into the vast plains of Sarchu, where a passport check is required. After another 30 km drive, we reach our campsite near the iconic Whiskey Bridge.

Day 6Trek from Whiskey Bridge to Tak

We start with a gentle walk along the road before descending to the riverbed. The day is kept light to help your body acclimatise to the altitude. Overnight stay at the campsite under the stars.

Day 7Trek from Tak to Base of Morang La

We trek through a narrow gorge leading us deeper into the high mountains toward Morang La. Keep an eye out for glimpses of Bharel (mountain sheep) and graceful Ibex. Our camp for the night is set at the foot of the mighty Morang La.

Day 8Trek from Base of Morang La to Tahtau

The day begins with a steady 2.5-hour ascent to the lofty Morang La, offering sweeping views of the majestic Himalayan range. From the pass, we descend into a quiet valley and set up camp beside a peaceful stream.

Day 9Trek from Tahtau to Yakbu

While wildlife sightings are often rare until the final stretch, today’s trek offers a tranquil journey with three easy stream crossings. We arrive at Yakbu, where a small cave Gompa adds charm to the landscape. Our scenic campsite awaits beside a flowing stream.

Day 10Trek from Yakbu to Lungmotse

Today’s trail takes us through a refreshing stream before reaching the seasonal nomadic village of Sangtha. Here, you’ll get a glimpse into the lives of the local nomad families. We end the day camping at the base of Yarla, surrounded by quiet wilderness.

Day 11Trek from Lungmotse to Datt

🏔️ Altitude: 4200 m / 13,779 ft.

This is the longest day of the trek, taking us over the high Yar La Pass. Along the way, watch for sightings of the elusive Kyang (wild donkeys). In Datt, explore a centuries-old monastery and the traditional village before settling in at a picturesque campsite.

Day 12Trek from Datt to Sora

We trek through a stunning gorge, crossing crystal-clear streams that sparkle in the sunlight. Keep an eye to the right—ruins of an ancient castle silently watch over the trail. Tonight, we camp at the base of the majestic Zalungkarpo La.

Day 13Trek from Sora to Langthang Chhu

Day 14Trek from Langthang Chhu to Nimaling

The trail follows a lively stream past scattered houses and barley fields before merging with the iconic Markha Valley route. A steady uphill climb brings us to Nimaling, where the majestic Kang Yatse Peak (6400 m / 20,997 ft.) towers above. Overnight camp in this breathtaking alpine meadow.

Day 15Trek from Nimaling to Shang

Day 16Journey from Shang to Leh

Can I bring a suitcase for the trek?
