After a flight to Bagdogra from Delhi, the route unfolds across stunning Himalayan landscapes, with panoramic views of Everest and Kangchenjunga along the way. Cross multiple high passes—including Danphe Bhir La at 4,530 m—and camp beside alpine streams and in serene valleys. With the highest campsite reaching 4,700 m, this offbeat trekking route offers solitude, raw nature, and breathtaking scenery throughout.

The journey concludes in Yuksom before returning to Bagdogra for your flight to Delhi, wrapping up one of the most scenic Himalayan treks in Sikkim.

Day 1Arrival in Delhi

Guests will be received at the airport and transferred to the hotel in Delhi for an overnight stay, marking the beginning of your Himalayan journey.

Day 2Flight to Bagdogra and Drive to Gangtok

After a domestic flight from Delhi to Bagdogra, you’ll embark on a scenic drive through rolling hills and tea estates to reach Gangtok. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3Drive to Uttarey

Depart early from Gangtok by jeep and travel through the lush hills and deep valleys of West Sikkim. The journey takes you past dramatic ridgelines, across the roaring Rangeet River, and through scenic hamlets before arriving in Uttarey. Overnight stay in a local lodge.

Day 4Trek to Chiwa Bhanjyang – Into the Border Highlands

Day 5Acclimatization at Chiwa Bhanjyang – Hike to Singalila Peak

Take a short hike to nearby Singalila Peak to aid acclimatization and enjoy sweeping views of the Himalayan ranges. The rest of the day is free to relax and prepare for the days ahead.

Day 6Trek to Dhor – First Pass and Remote Wilderness

The trail ascends gently through forests and onto an open hillside leading to the first prayer flag-draped pass, with stunning views of distant peaks. Passing occasional yak herder huts and overlooking rice terraces far below, the day ends at a secluded campsite nestled in a sheltered hollow beneath the ridge.

Day 7Trek to Pare Megu – Sunrise Views and Sacred Passes

Begin the day early with a short walk to the ridge for a chance to witness a breathtaking sunrise over both Everest and Kangchenjunga. A steep climb over one pass and a gentler descent over another lead to your camp near a seasonal shepherd’s settlement.

Day 8 Trek to Lam Pokhari – Views of Kabru and Khumbu Giants

Follow a wooded trail that gradually opens into a wide alpine valley offering the first close-up views of the Kabru range, with Mount Pandim standing tall. A steady two-hour climb brings you to the campsite at Lam Pokhari, where Everest and other distant Khumbu peaks line the horizon. Spend the afternoon resting and acclimatizing.

Day 9Trek to Gomathang – Sacred Lakes and High Passes

After a short traverse and a final ascent to Kag Bhir La, you may catch distant views of Kangchenjunga. The day ends with a steep descent to your riverside camp at Gomathang.

Day 10Trek to Tikip Chu – Meadows, Passes, and Kanchenjunga Views

Descend into the meadows of Kokling, then ascend a steep crag to a dramatic pass with striking views of Kanchenjunga’s icy cliffs. A steep descent brings you to the camp by the Tikip Chu, a glacial river flowing from the high Rathong Mountains.

Day 11Trek to Dzongri – Joining the Goecha La Trail

Begin a steady ascent through ancient forests of fir, juniper, and rhododendron as you merge with the classic Goecha La trekking route. The trail opens into wide alpine pastures, leading you to the scenic meadows of Dzongri. Overnight stay at camp.

Day 12Trek to Lamuney – Valley Walk to Riverside Camp

Descend to Kokchulang before gradually ascending the valley past Thangsing, a popular campsite for Goecha La trekkers. Continue onward to your quieter riverside camp at Lamuney, located just below the serene Samiti Lake.

Day 13Trek to Zemathang – Into High Himalayan Terrain

Climb steeply behind Samiti Lake to reach a dramatic alpine ridge, where the landscape shifts to raw glaciers, snowfields, and towering peaks. With Mt. Pandim dominating the skyline, continue through striking high-altitude terrain to reach your final high camp at Zemathang, tucked in a sheltered green basin just below Goecha La.

Day 14 Trek to Goecha La and Descent to Thangshing

Begin early for the final push to Goecha La, a high mountain pass surrounded by glaciers, jagged ridges, and the towering presence of Kangchenjunga. After taking in the awe-inspiring views at the pass, return to camp for breakfast before descending into the more oxygen-rich meadows of Thangshing for an overnight stay.

Day 15Trek to Tsokha – Through Forest Trails and Meadows

Begin with an hour-long descent along the familiar trail toward Dzongri, then divert onto a lower forest route that later rejoins the main descent to Tsokha. Trek through serene woodlands and meadows before reaching the vibrant forest-side camp at Tsokha for the night.

Day 16Trek to Yuksum – Final Descent into Sikkim’s First Capital

Yes, on clear days, especially from passes like Danphe Bhir La and early ridge walks, you can view both Mount Everest and Kangchenjunga—a rare visual on Indian treks.

What’s the weight limit for my backpack?

Keep your personal backpack under 8–10 kg. If porter/mule services are available, you can send up to 12–15 kg (charges may apply).

Will I get mobile network or electricity?
