Start training with footwork techniques—flat-footing, front-pointing, and balance drills. Practice self-arrest using an ice axe on moderate slopes. Instructors guide you on safe movement across frozen terrain. Wrap up with an evening session on ice hazard awareness.
Advance to controlled vertical movement using ice tools. Practice tool placements, swing techniques, and three-point climbing form. Learn partner safety checks, communication, and proper belaying on ice. Begin climbing short top-rope ice routes under supervision.
Drill anchor building with ice screws and V-thread setups. Practice rappelling down vertical ice using different systems. Learn safety checks, emergency descent methods, and crevasse awareness. A cold injuries first-aid session wraps up the day.
Climb frozen waterfalls and steeper ice features. Simulate emergency rescues with assisted lowers and belay escapes. Push your limits with instructor-guided routes. Review key safety protocols and log your climb progress.
