About the Friendship Peak Climbing Expedition – Indian Himalayas

The Friendship Peak Climbing Expedition is one of India’s most popular 6000m Himalayan summit climbs, ideal for trekkers and entry-level mountaineers seeking a rewarding high-altitude challenge. Located near Manali in Himachal Pradesh, Friendship Peak (5,289 m) offers breathtaking views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges, making it a perfect introduction to Himalayan mountaineering.

This Friendship Peak climbing expedition begins with an acclimatization trek through alpine meadows, pine forests and traditional villages before reaching the higher slopes of the peak. Climbers train in essential mountaineering techniques such as cramponing, ice-axe use, snow climbing, self-arrest and rope safety. The ascent includes glacier sections and steep snow slopes that create a thrilling but achievable summit experience.

With certified guides, structured acclimatization, high-altitude camps and full expedition support, this Friendship Peak climbing expedition provides a safe and professionally guided path to a 5000m+ summit. It is also an excellent progression climb for those preparing for peaks like Kang Yatse, Stok Kangri, Mentok Kangri or Ladakhi Peak.
