It was formerly the summer capital during the British Rule. Himachal Pradesh is no exception. While the majority of the population is of Aryan stock and are devoted Hindus, there is ample representation of Buddhism, especially in the north, and Islam. In Himalaya motorbike tour, roads are with the bends which makes riding a royal enfield in such terrain a great experience.
