Monasteries and Aryans of Ladakh Trek India | Himalayan Trek
The Monasteries and Aryans of Ladakh Trek India is a rare combination of Himalayan trekking and deep cultural exploration. This 17-day journey follows the Indus Valley, passing ancient Buddhist monasteries, remote Ladakhi villages, and the homeland of the Aryan Drokhpa tribe. The trail crosses several beautiful passes—Phobe La, Charatse La, Chermentse La, Meptek La, and Bonbbong La reaching a maximum elevation of 4,200 m (13,779 ft).
Each day opens into new landscapes: barley fields, prayer-flag-lined ridges, whitewashed stupas, and dramatic Himalayan skies. The Monasteries and Aryans of Ladakh Trek India offers more than scenery—it offers human connection. Trekkers stay in traditional Ladakhi guesthouses, sharing tea, stories, and local meals. In the Dah Hanu region, visitors meet the Drokhpa community, an Indo-Aryan group known for their distinct heritage and preserved cultural identity.
Led by Into Wild Himalaya Expeditions, the trek blends moderate physical challenge with rich cultural immersion. From peaceful monasteries to vibrant Aryan villages, this adventure reveals the spiritual and cultural heart of Ladakh.
