Itinerary

DAY 1Delhi to Leh

Altitude: 3500 m
Travelling Time: 1 hour
Guests will need to take a domestic flight from Delhi to Leh which is the capital of Ladakh. Once reached the airport, guests will spend the day acclimatising to Leh’s environment. This can be done by visiting local markets, monasteries or can just relax at the hotel where we will be spending the night.

DAY 2Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, the day will be spent sightseeing around beautiful Leh. A short hike will be undertaken to practise and acclimatise to Ladakh’s altitude. You will be able to see Stok Kangri from a distance on the other side of the valley. Overnight stay in hotel.

DAY 3Leh - Zingchan

Altitude: 3900 m
Travelling Time: 5/6 hours
The day will begin with a 1 hour drive from Leh to Spituk, which is the closest we can get to our starting point of the expedition. Once reached, we will then start our expedition to Zingchan. This is an easy introductory walk which can take around 4 hours. Overnight stay in camp.

DAY 4Zingchan - Stok La

Altitude: 4400 m
Travelling Time: 6/7 hours
After a fulfilling breakfast, we will begin the day trekking from Zingchan to the base of Stok La, which is a pass below the mountain. En route to Stok La, you will experience the barren desert landscape of Ladakh which is other-worldy. Once reached Stok La, we will camp for the night accompanied by hot food, as night time can be rather chilly.

DAY 5Stok La - Mankorma

Altitude: 4900 m
Travelling Time: 5/6 hours
The day will be spent trekking over the Stok La Pass to our camp for the night in Mankorma. When trekking over the pass, you will be able to experience great views of Stok Kangri.

DAY 6Mankorma - Base Camp

Altitude: 5000 m
Travelling Time: 4/5 hours
The day will start off early to reach the base camp and ensure lots of rest is taken before our ascent on Day 7. Once reached the base camp, lunch will be served before a short climb in the local area to better acclimatize. Overnight stay in camp.

DAY 7Base Camp - Stok Kangri - Base Camp

Altitude: 6150 m
Travelling Time: 10 hours
After a wholesome breakfast we hit the day off early by starting our ascent up Stok Kangri (weather permitting). If the weather is in our favour, you will be able to witness the mesmerising sunrise at the summit.
The climb begins onto a ridge which will then lead to a large glacier. After crossing the glacier, we will then ascend the steep summit. This is the most difficult part of the expedition which requires both mental and physical strength.
The view from the summit is breathtaking. You will see panoramic views of snow-capped mountains, including the never-ending Karakoram Range and Zanskar Range. It is an experience like no other.

DAY 8Spare Summit Day

This day is spare if Day 7 weather is not conducive for summiting.
